Color graphing activities for every season of the year! The Color Graphing Four Seasons Bundle gives your pre-K and preschool math centers a fresh set of roll and graph games, spin and color printables and whole class graphs for spring, summer, fall and winter.
Children roll a picture cube, find the matching seasonal picture and add it to the graph. They spin and color seasonal pictures like bees, watermelon, pumpkins and mittens and then see which color has the most. Each season uses the same simple routines, so children can focus on colors, counting and graphing while the pictures change with the calendar.
With this color graphing bundle, you get
- 4 seasonal color graphing packs: spring, summer, fall and winter
- 2 roll and graph sets in full color in each pack
- Black and white graphing sets you can color to match any colors you want to teach
- Print and go spin, color and graph printables for independent practice
- A whole class color graphing set in every pack for circle time
Print, laminate and keep graphing all year long!

Why Teachers Love It
-
A whole year of graphing: Four seasonal packs keep your color graphing centers fresh from fall through summer.
-
Two skills in one: Children practice color recognition and early graphing at the same time.
-
Low prep and hands-on: Print and laminate the graphing activities for ready-to-go math centers.
-
Ink-friendly options: Black and white graphing sets are included for those who have limited printing abilities.
-
Any colors you choose: Color the black and white cubes and graphs to match the colors you want to focus on.
-
No reading required: The roll and graph sets are great for special needs students because they do not require any reading skills and let children repeat color words without frustration.
Skills Students Practice
Primary Academic Skills
-
Color recognition: Children name and match colors on seasonal pictures, cubes and graphs.
-
Graphing: Children record each roll or spin on a simple bar graph, one space at a time.
-
Sorting by color: Pictures such as leaves, umbrellas, ice cream cones and snowmen are grouped into color columns.
-
Counting: Children count how many spaces are filled in for each color.
-
Comparing amounts: Children look at a finished graph to tell which color has more or fewer.
-
Color words: Repeated practice with color words builds early vocabulary.
-
Fine motor skills: Coloring graph spaces and handling cubes and spinners build hand control.
Secondary Life & Learning Skills
- Taking turns
- Following directions
- Maintaining attention
- Making and checking predictions
- Using mathematical language
- Working independently
How to Use It
Step 1: Choose a cube format. Use the large images with a differentiated instruction cube to create a large die, or use the cube template to form your own cube. Print and laminate the graphs for centers.
Step 2: Use the Whole Class Graphing Activity during circle time to introduce colors and graphing. Roll the picture cube, add each picture to the class graph and talk about which color has the most.
Step 3: Set out the roll and graph sets in your math centers and use the print and go Spin, Color and Graph printables for a fun, independent morning activity.
Easy Differentiation
Every preschool group has children at different places with colors and counting. These activities are easy to adjust so each child can be successful.
For Children Who Need More Support
- Start with the whole class graphing set and graph together
- Use the black and white set and color only two or three colors on the cube and graph
- Name each color together before rolling
- Count the filled spaces on the graph together, pointing to each one
For On-Level Practice
- Play the roll and graph sets in math centers
- Complete the spin, color and graph printables for morning work
- Ask children to tell which color has the most and which has the fewest
- Have partners take turns rolling and graphing
For an Extra Challenge
- Use the black and white set to add new colors of your choice to the cube and graph
- Ask children to predict which color will win before they start rolling
- Have children count how many more one color has than another
- Compare graphs from two different seasons
For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support
- Use the roll and graph sets, which do not require any reading skills
- Practice color words with a short sentence frame such as "I rolled ___."
- Offer the large cube for children who need a bigger item to grasp and toss
- Laminate the graphs so children can mark them with dry erase markers again and again
- Give extra processing time and model each roll and mark before children begin
Perfect For

- Circle time
- Morning work
- Small groups
- Partner games
- Independent math practice
- Seasonal theme units all year

Standards
These color graphing activities support the 2022 Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and Virginia's Early Learning and Development Standards (2021), and they build toward kindergarten skills in Common Core, the TEKS and the Virginia SOL (Math 2023):
Common Core State Standards
-
CCSS K.MD.B.3: Classify objects into categories and count how many are in each.
Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines
-
Texas Pre-K Guidelines PK4.V.E.1: Sort objects that are the same and different, such as seasonal pictures by color.
-
Texas Pre-K Guidelines PK4.V.E.2: Collect data and organize it in a graphic representation, like the roll and graph sets.
-
Texas Pre-K Guidelines PK4.V.A.2: Count up to 10 objects, touching one for each number, while counting graph spaces.
Texas TEKS
-
TEKS Math K.8.A: Collect, sort and organize data into two or three categories.
-
TEKS Math K.8.B: Use data to create real-object and picture graphs.
-
TEKS Math K.8.C: Draw conclusions from real-object and picture graphs, such as which color has the most.
-
TEKS ELAR K.3.C: Identify and use words that name categories such as colors.
Virginia Early Learning and Development Standards
-
Virginia ELDS CD3.4: Sort and classify seasonal pictures by color.
-
