Telling time card games for every level, from time to the hour all the way to five minutes! This bright card game bundle gives you four leveled sets and five fun games for math centers and review time, so your students can grow their telling time skills one level at a time.
Telling time can be a tricky skill for young learners, but review becomes a game with these cards. Children match analog clocks (clock faces with hands), digital clocks (times shown with numbers only) and times written in word form. Level 1 covers time to the hour, Level 2 time to the half hour, Level 3 time to fifteen minutes and Level 4 time to five minutes. Some games are fast paced and others take a slower approach, so you can choose what fits your group.
With this telling time card games bundle, you get
- Four leveled card sets: the hour, the half hour, fifteen minutes and five minutes
- Five card games: Go Fish, Snap!, Slap-It!, a Matching Game and P-I-G
- Three card formats: analog clocks, digital clocks and time in word form
- Ideas for customizing the games for different learners
Print the level your students need and start playing!

How to Use It
Step 1: Choose the level your students need and print the digital clock, analog clock and word cards. Laminate them for durability and cut them apart.
Step 2: Choose a game and decide which card formats to use. Model a few turns and read each time aloud together.
Step 3: Set the game out in a math center, small group or partner practice. When children are ready, move them to the next level and play the same games with new times.
Easy Differentiation
Children learn to tell time at very different rates. With four levels and five games, it is easy to give each child the right amount of challenge.
For Children Who Need More Support
- Start with Level 1, time to the hour
- Use the analog and digital cards only before adding word cards
- Use a real or toy clock to show the same time
- Play the Matching Game with a small set of cards
For On-Level Practice
- Play with the level that matches what your class is learning now
- For Slap-It!, choose the set that is hardest for a child as the center pile, so they can look for the formats that are easier for them
- Use the cards for independent matching practice with all three sets
- Mix two levels together for review
For an Extra Challenge
- Use the Level 4 five-minute cards
- Play with all three card formats at once
- Put all of the cards in a level in order by time
- Ask children to say each time two ways, such as 10:15 and quarter after ten
For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support
- Practice time words such as o'clock, half past, quarter after and minutes
- Use a sentence frame such as "It is ___."
- Let children point to the matching card when speaking is hard
- Reduce the number of cards and give extra processing time
Perfect For
- 1st and 2nd grade math centers
- Small groups
- Partner games
- Intervention
- Early finishers
- Review before a time test
- Special education classrooms
- Substitute plans
- Homeschool
