Thanksgiving in the US falls in late November. It's a perfect time for turkey-themed learning. These Thanksgiving activities give preschool and kindergarten kids hands-on practice with counting, shapes, vocabulary and fine motor skills. Kids search real photos in Thanksgiving I Spy 'Flip' and I Spy 'Junior' board games, build on fine motor mats with play dough, pattern blocks, geoboards and building bricks and practice numbers on 1-20 ten-frame mats. A Thanksgiving brain break cube, a November ordinal numbers card game and themed math and literacy centers round it out.
Simplify with fewer cards or numbers, then add a challenge as kids grow.
