Telling time puzzles with 72 puzzles in multiple levels, so your students can review time to the hour, the half hour, fifteen minutes and five minutes! Telling time can be a difficult task for young learners, but review becomes very enjoyable with these two-piece puzzles.

Each puzzle pairs an analog clock (a clock face with hands) with its digital time (the time shown with numbers only). Children find the digital time that matches the clock and fit the two pieces together. The puzzles are simple to put together, so kids can focus on learning to tell time and not on figuring out the puzzle pieces.

With these telling time puzzles, you get

  • 72 two-piece time puzzles
  • Levels for time to the hour, the half hour, :15 and :45 and five minutes
  • Separate pages for each level, so printing one skill is easy
  • An easy way to make the puzzles self-checking

Print, cut and start matching clocks!

Easy Differentiation

Children learn to tell time at very different rates. These leveled puzzles make it easy to give each child the right amount of challenge.

For Children Who Need More Support

  • Start with time on the hour
  • Work with a few puzzles at a time
  • Point to the hour hand and the minute hand together before children choose
  • Use a real or toy clock to show the same time

For On-Level Practice

  • Use the hour and half hour puzzles
  • Mix two levels together for review
  • Have partners check each other's puzzles

For an Extra Challenge

  • Use the :15 and :45 and five-minute puzzles
  • Ask children to say each time two ways, such as 5:45 and quarter to 6
  • Have children write the time for each puzzle they finish
  • Time how long it takes to finish a set, then try to beat that time

For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support

  • Practice time words such as o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to
  • Have children say each time aloud before putting the pieces together
  • Use the self-checking dots or shapes for extra independence
  • Reduce the number of puzzles and give extra processing time

Perfect For

  • 1st and 2nd grade math centers
  • Small groups
  • Intervention
  • Morning work
  • Early finishers
  • Review before a time test
