Butterfly life cycle preposition practice is simple and visual with these match-up cards. Children read six short, picture-supported sentences about eggs, caterpillars, flowers and butterflies, then match each sentence to the picture that shows it.

Prepositions are small position words such as on and in. Picture cues make each sentence easy to picture, and two options let you match the activity to every reader in your class.

With this butterfly preposition match-up, you get

  • Six simple, picture-supported butterfly life cycle sentences
  • Option 1 for matching one full sentence card to a picture
  • Option 2 for sorting the sentences, putting them in order and matching them to pictures
  • Differentiated assessment pages
  • An easy way to add language practice to your butterfly unit

Print, cut and let children match their way through the butterfly life cycle.

Step 3: Use the differentiated assessment pages on pages 13-14 so children can show what they understand.
