Spring counting I Spy board game fun for numbers 1-10! The I Spy Board Game Spring Counting is a playful search-and-find number game filled with rainbows, flowers, kites, puddles, sunshine and caterpillars that kids actually want to look at.

Children flip a card, hunt across a bright spring board and race to spot the match first. Every card shows a numeral, a ten frame or a spring counting picture, so preschool, pre-k and kindergarten children see numbers in more than one form and build number recognition, counting and visual discrimination with every round. It is cute, and it pulls its weight in your spring math block too.

  • Numbers in different forms: Numerals, ten frames and counting pictures give young learners repeated exposure to each number.

How to Use It

Step 1: Print the image cards, game boards and tokens. Laminate them if you want extra durability, then cut apart the pieces and store them in a bag, photo box or small container.

Step 2: Choose one game board and place it where all players can see it clearly. Give each player a stack of image cards face down and place the tokens nearby.

Step 3: Players flip their top card at the same time and race to find the matching spring counting image on the game board. The first player to find the correct match wins a token. Keep playing until all the cards have been used, then count the tokens to find the winner.

Easy Differentiation

Children come to this game with different number sense, visual skills and comfort levels with group play. It is easy to adjust so everyone can join in.
