Fall alphabet hide and seek pocket chart game where every acorn could be hiding a squirrel! This Fall Acorn Alphabet Hide & Seek Pocket Chart Game is an interactive letter recognition guessing game your students will beg to play again and again. Children search for squirrels tucked behind acorn alphabet cards while practicing uppercase and lowercase letter recognition in a way that feels more like play than work.
This hands-on alphabet game is perfect for fall lesson plans, autumn and woodland themes or anytime you want to boost engagement during circle time, literacy centers or small group instruction. How to Use It
Step 1: Place the alphabet acorn cards into a pocket chart, on a table or on the floor so all letters are visible. Choose how many letters to use. Start with 3 to 5 letters for early learners and increase as students gain confidence.
Step 2: Have one student hide 1 to 8 squirrel cards behind the alphabet cards while the others close their eyes.
Step 3: Students take turns guessing which letters are hiding the squirrels and say the letter name with each guess. Reveal the card after each guess to check for a squirrel. Use the recording pages to cross off guessed letters and write the correct letters in the boxes below.
Easy Differentiation
Children learn letters at very different rates. Because you choose the letters and how many to show, this game fits every learner.
