Multiplication fact puzzles make fact practice something students can see and hold! Each 2-piece puzzle shows a multiplication fact as an array of base ten blocks, so students connect the numbers to a picture of equal rows before they match the product.
These Multiplication Fact Puzzles for Multiples of 1-10 include all of the multiplication facts for 1-10. Facts for 11 and 12 are also included for a challenge, with the exception of 11x11, 11x12 and 12x12. An array is a picture of a fact arranged in equal rows and columns, which helps students understand what multiplication means.
With these multiplication fact puzzles, you get
- 2-piece puzzles for all multiplication facts for 1-10
- Arrays with base ten blocks for visual understanding
- Challenge puzzles for facts with 11 and 12

How to Use It
Step 1: Choose the color puzzles (pages 4-43) or the black and white puzzles (pages 44-83). Print on card stock or laminate for durability, then cut each puzzle into its two pieces.
Step 2: Choose the facts that fit your lesson, such as one multiple at a time or a mix for review, and mix up the puzzle pieces.
Step 3: Students look at each array, find the matching product and put the two pieces together. Have students say the fact aloud as they complete each puzzle.
Easy Differentiation
Students learn their multiplication facts at different speeds. These puzzles make it easy to give each student the right amount of practice.
For Children Who Need More Support
- Start with one small group of facts, such as the 2s or the 5s
- Have students count the blocks in each array to find the product
- Use fewer puzzles at one time
- Model a few puzzles before students work on their own
For On-Level Practice
- Use the facts your class is working on now
- Mix two or three multiples together for review
- Have students write each fact as they match it
For an Extra Challenge
- Add the puzzles for facts with 11 and 12
- Time a round and challenge students to beat their own score
- Ask students to write the related division fact for each puzzle
- Have students draw their own array for a fact
For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support
- Practice math vocabulary such as array, rows, factor and product
- Use a sentence frame such as "___ rows of ___ make ___."
- Use the black and white version to reduce visual clutter
- Give extra processing time and fewer pieces at once
Perfect For
- Math centers
- Small groups and RTI
