Frog numbers pocket chart game where every lily pad might be hiding a fly! This interactive numbers hide and seek game keeps kids focused, curious and excited to practice numbers every day. The Numbers 0-120 Hide & Seek Pocket Chart Cards | Frog Theme gives preschool, pre-K, kindergarten and early elementary students a playful guessing game for number recognition, counting and number order.

Students search for flies tucked behind colorful frog number cards as they guess, check and record numbers. Children scan the pocket chart, call out numbers and talk through their guesses, so number practice feels playful and low pressure. Bring it out for circle time, add it to your math centers, use it with small groups or pull it for a quick review any day of the week.

With this frog numbers hide and seek game, you get

  • Frog number cards for numbers 0-10 and 0-120 in color and black and white
  • Fly cards to hide behind the numbers

  • Repeated, playful practice saying and writing numbers

Print, laminate and let the fly hunt begin.

What's Included

Everything you need for flexible number recognition practice is included, with color and black-and-white options so you can choose what works best for your class:

  • Quick-print frog number cards for numbers 0-10
  • Frog number cards for numbers 0-10 and 0-120 (color)
  • Frog number cards for numbers 0-10 and 0-120 (black and white)
  • Fly hiding cards for the hide and seek game
  • More than 30 differentiated recording pages for multiple counting levels
  • Clear teacher directions for setting up and playing the game

All cards are sized to fit a standard pocket chart (a hanging chart with clear pockets), so the game is easy to prep, store and reuse. No pocket chart? The cards can also be used on a table or the floor.

Why Teachers Love It

  • Kids stay engaged: Everyone watches closely to see which frog card is hiding a fly, so attention stays on the numbers.
  • You control the difficulty: Display just a few numbers for early learners or expand the chart to higher numbers for students practicing counting and number order.
  • Repetition that feels like play: Kids want to keep guessing, so repeated number practice happens naturally as part of the game.
  • A routine kids learn fast: The steps stay the same every round, so children can focus on the numbers.
  • Built-in accountability: Recording pages add a number writing step without taking away the fun.
  • Confidence for every learner: Students build confidence as they identify numbers on their own.

Skills Students Practice

Primary Academic Skills

  • Number recognition: Students identify and name numbers as they scan the pocket chart.
  • Counting: Students count while guessing and checking numbers.
  • Number order: Students practice number order and sequencing across different number ranges.
  • Visual discrimination: Children notice the differences between numbers that look alike, such as 12 and 21.
  • Oral language: Students say each number out loud during their turn.
  • Number writing: The recording pages give extra handwriting practice as students write numbers.

Secondary Life & Learning Skills

  • Taking turns
  • Remembering previous guesses
  • Maintaining attention
  • Making and checking predictions
  • Waiting during group play
  • Building confidence during group participation

How to Use It

Step 1: Choose the number range you want to practice, such as numbers 0-10 or numbers 0-120. Place the frog number cards into a pocket chart so all numbers are visible. Cards may also be laid out on a table or floor.

Step 2: Have one student hide 1-5 fly cards behind the frog number cards.

Step 3: Students take turns guessing which numbers are hiding flies, saying the number aloud with each guess. Check behind the card to see if a fly is hidden. Use the recording pages to cross off guessed numbers and write the correct numbers when a fly is found.

Easy Differentiation

Children build number skills at very different rates. Because you choose the numbers and how many to show, this game fits every learner.

For Children Who Need More Support

  • Display just 3 to 5 numbers from 0-10 and hide 1 fly
  • Count the numbers together before hiding the flies
  • Point to each number as children say it
  • Use the color frog cards for extra visual support

For On-Level Practice

  • Display a longer row of numbers (such as 0-20) and hide 2 or 3 flies
  • Use the recording pages to cross off guesses and write correct numbers
  • Ask "What number comes next?" as you check each card
  • Play with a partner or small group as a math center

For an Extra Challenge

  • Fill the chart with higher numbers up to 120 and hide up to 5 flies
  • Show numbers that look alike next to each other, such as 13 and 31
  • Have the hider give clues such as "It is one more than 45"
  • Let a child lead the game and check each guess

For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support

  • Choose specific target numbers for each child's goals
  • Use a short language frame such as "Is it behind number ___?"
  • Practice turn-taking and verbal number naming for speech goals
  • Use the black and white frog cards to reduce visual clutter
  • Give extra processing time before each guess

Perfect For

  • Math centers
  • Small group instruction
  • Circle time
  • Homeschool math
  • Speech therapy and intervention
  • Early finishers
  • Rainy day learning
  • Frog and pond themes
