Valentine numbers pocket chart game where every envelope might be hiding a heart! This interactive hide and seek game keeps kids engaged, attentive and eager to play. The Numbers 0-120 Hide & Seek Pocket Chart Cards | Valentine Theme gives preschool, pre-K, kindergarten and early elementary students a playful guessing game for number recognition, counting and number order.
Kids scan the pocket chart, say numbers out loud and explain their thinking as they search for the hearts tucked behind festive Valentine number cards. Every guess is another look at a number, so the practice adds up quickly in a way that feels playful and relaxed. You decide how challenging it is, too. Use a small set of numbers for children developing early number recognition or display higher numbers for learners working on counting, number order and sequencing.

Why Teachers Love It
-
Kids stay engaged: Everyone wants to know which envelope is hiding a heart, so attention stays on the numbers.
-
You control the difficulty: Show a handful of numbers from 0-10 or fill the chart with numbers up to 120, so one game fits very different learners.
-
A routine kids learn fast: The predictable steps support focus, while the hide and seek element keeps motivation high.
-
Works in many settings: Use it for circle time, small groups, math centers or a morning routine without changing much.
-
Built-in accountability: Recording pages add a number writing step without taking away the fun.
-
Timely for February: A Valentine's Day theme keeps number practice fresh all month long.

How to Use It
Step 1: Choose the number range you want to practice, such as 0-10 or 0-120. Place the number cards into a pocket chart so all numbers are visible. Cards may also be laid out on a table or the floor.
Step 2: Have one student hide 1 to 5 heart cards behind the number cards while everyone else closes their eyes.
Step 3: Students take turns guessing which numbers are hiding the hearts, saying the number out loud with each guess. Check behind the card to see if a heart is hidden. Use the recording pages to cross off guessed numbers and write the correct numbers when a heart is found.
Easy Differentiation
Children build number skills at very different rates. Because you choose the numbers and how many to show, this game fits every learner.
For Children Who Need More Support
- Display just 3 to 5 numbers from 0-10 and hide 1 heart
- Count the numbers together before hiding the hearts
- Point to each number as children say it
- Use the color Valentine cards for extra visual support
For On-Level Practice
- Display a longer row of numbers (such as 0-20) and hide 2 or 3 hearts
- Use the recording pages to cross off guesses and write correct numbers
- Ask "What number comes next?" as you check each card
- Play with a partner or small group as a math center
For an Extra Challenge
- Fill the chart with higher numbers up to 120 and hide up to 5 hearts
- Show numbers that look alike next to each other, such as 13 and 31
- Have the hider give clues such as "It is one more than 45"
- Let a child lead the game and check each guess
For Speech, OT, ELL or Special Education Support
- Choose specific target numbers for each child's goals
- Use a short language frame such as "Is it behind number ___?"
- Have children point to a number to guess when naming is still emerging
- Use the black and white Valentine cards to reduce visual clutter
- Give extra processing time before each guess
