Alphabet sound recognition sticky puzzles give children a hands-on way to practice beginning sounds by sticking, unsticking and sticking again! Velcro activities are fun for kids as young as babies, and these Alphabet Sound Recognition Sticky Puzzles bring that same fun to letters and the words that start with them.
Each puzzle pairs a large letter with pictures that begin with that letter's sound. Children find the pictures that match the letter and stick them in place. Print the full color version for a reusable word work center or the black and white Print & Go pages for quick independent practice.
With these alphabet sound recognition puzzles, you get
- 26 sticky puzzles, one for each letter from A to Z
- Full color and black and white versions
- Eight beginning sound pictures for each letter
- A reusable Velcro center plus Print & Go pages for morning work, take-home practice or fast finishers
Prep a center once and let little hands stick, unstick and stick again.
What's Included
- 26 Alphabet Sound Recognition Sticky Puzzles, A to Z
- Full color version for laminated, reusable centers
- Black and white Print & Go pages for quick printing and individual use
- Eight picture words for each letter, such as ambulance and anchor for A, baseball and bell for B and pineapple and pencil for P
- Vowel puzzles with four short vowel and four long vowel beginning sound pictures
Please note: In this set the vowels have four short vowel beginning sounds and four long vowel beginning sounds. This is due to clip art limitations. If you choose to not use the long vowels, simply cut off the bottom portion of the page, as they are all on the lower part of the pictures. A short vowel sound is like the a in "apple," and a long vowel sound says the letter's own name.

How to Use It
Step 1: To prep a center, print the color puzzles, laminate the whole page and cut out the pictures and letter. Use a box cutter to cut out any inside holes if you desire. Then attach Velcro to the back of each picture. Clear Velcro dots let children see the full letter.
Step 2: Store each puzzle in an envelope or baggie for your word work centers. Children say each picture name and stick the pictures that match the letter's sound in place.
Step 3: For individual use, print as many of the black and white Print & Go pages as you need for morning work, take-home practice or fast finishers.
