-
Fits right into a habitat unit: Use it alongside lessons on wetlands, marshes, ponds and ecosystems.
-
Great for RTI groups: Teachers use it as a vocabulary game to see which students grasp words and images quickly.

Low prep: Print, laminate and cut the pieces and you are ready to play again and again.
-
Flexible ways to play: Race as a group, match independently or play side by side on separate boards.

How to Use It
Step 1: Print the game boards, image cards and tokens. Laminate for durability and cut apart the pieces.
Step 2: Choose a wetland animal game board and place it in the center. Deal the wetland animal image cards face down to each player.
Step 3: Players flip their cards together and race to spy the matching wetland animal on the board. Win a token for each correct match. Continue until all wetland animals are found. The player with the most tokens wins!
Bonus Play Options
Independent play: A single student works through the deck of image cards on their own. They flip one card at a time, search for the matching picture on the game board and cover it with a mini eraser or token. This builds focus, visual scanning and vocabulary without the pressure of competing against others.
Parallel play: Two students each have their own I Spy game board and set of cards. They play side by side, flipping and matching cards at their own pace. This works well for children who need personal space, are just beginning to join group activities or thrive in a more relaxed, non-competitive setting.
Easy Differentiation
Children come to this game with different vocabularies, visual skills and comfort levels with group play. These options make it easy to adjust so everyone can join in.
