  • Pages 8-10: Counting with butterflies mini-book
  • Page 12: Know, Want to Know, Learn graphic organizer

  • Page 14: Venn Diagram for comparing butterflies and caterpillars
  • Page 15: Graphic organizer to list verbs that apply to butterflies

Page 24 should be cut on the outer, dark lines and the lines in-between the words. Do not cut the tabs on the sides of the words. These tabs are glued to the notebook, and the word tabs are folded so students can paste the pictures from page 25 under the correct tabs. You can also use page 26 in place of a notebook, and students simply glue the correct flap to the tab boxes on the side.

Why Teachers Love It

  • Math and literacy in one theme: Every page connects back to butterflies and their life cycle.
  • Many standards covered: Subtraction, graphing, grammar, writing and sentence order are all in one pack.
  • No prep: Print the pages and they are ready for centers, morning work or homework.
  • Great for science talk: Venn diagrams and the Know, Want to Know, Learn organizer help children share what they are learning.
  • Interactive notebook option: Use the notebook pages or the flap page on its own.
